I set out to find some ducks, but there were none. Just chickadees everywhere.

The Snow is Almost Gone

Here's a little experiment I did last year. It's 32 pictures taken from April 5th to 22nd of the snow melting in the front yard.

Back to Spring and then Winter Again

Where were we? Oh yeah, we went from spring back to winter, then a bit of summer. While I was out there were a couple days of spring again, the tulips are starting to poke their heads up, but then we went straight back to winter. Crazy weather!

My Computer Broke

After 18 years of using hard drives I've never had one completely fail on me. Until last night. The computer works all right, I just can't access that drive, the one with all my photos! Yeah, that one. I've got them backed up, of course (You do do back ups, right??), but my backup is more of a dump, not very organized. So now I need to find another drive, get it in and get organized again. Good excuse to get a bigger drive, I guess, I was starting to run low on space. Hopefully I won't be out of commission for too long.

Summer!

We skipped spring and went right into summer! Not really, the strawberries are from Florida, not sure where the pineapple is from. They were on sale this week. Yum!

Winter Again!

After a beautiful weekend of Spring, we get buried again in 32 cm (a little over a foot) of snow.

Chickadee

Found a bunch of chickadees on my walk last Saturday. They're pretty fast and don't stay still for very long. It was difficult to get a clear shot and with all the branches in the way, auto-focus was no good. It was good manual focus practice. None of them are as clear as I'd like.

Spring Walk

Well, spring has officially begun! The trees are just starting to bud. On Saturday it got up to about 13 degrees Celsius on my thermometer (55.4 Fahrenheit for those living in one of three countries that still does not use the metric system). That seemed pretty warm compared to what we're use to so I grabbed my camera and a sweater and went for a walk. The snow is melting quickly, but there was still quite a lot in the woods. It had a pretty hard crust so I could just walk along the top without sinking in too much. After a couple hours in the sun, though, the snow warmed up and my crust softened causing me to routinely sink up to about mid-thigh which slowed me down a bit. It turned into quite a workout.

Jay and the Lovebirds

I volunteer at a youth group at my church doing sound. Last week we had a band from Alberta, Canada put on a concert called Jay and the Lovebirds. It was quite entertaining to see them perform live. They're a great bunch of guys and I had a good time working with them.

My wife's getting bigger closer to her due date. I thought a silhouette would be cool so here it is.

I Got a Dent in my Car

I hit a snow bank the other day and put a big dent in my bumper. Sorry, haven't had much inspiration lately.
