Behind the Scenes

Here's our little studio. The white paper was used as reflectors, wax paper was set across the two reflectors to defuse the light and the flash was held, by hand, above the wax paper.

The second photo is a composite of about 20 photos. Since the depth of field is so narrow, I took many photos adjusting the focus between each one and then pasted together all the in-focus parts of each photo. It could be better.

All the orange bits is pollen from the flower.

Bubbles

Blowing bubbles inside makes for a slippery floor.

Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day

Look at that, I took and posted a photo all in the same day. Like I said in the previous post, today is Worldwide Pinhole Photography Day. So here is my photo taken with the pinhole lens I made for my DSLR. Spring is slowly making its way to my part of the world, so I thought that a photo of new leaves on the trees would be appropriate.

Bridges (Part 2)

One of the things New Brunswick is known for is its covered bridges, including the world's longest covered bridge in Hartland (I don't have a picture of this one yet).

There used to be over 300 covered bridges, but there's only about 65 left. Many have been replaced by modern bridges and turned into little parks as is the case with this one.

Flower

My friend Alain and I set up a little studio to photograph this flower. It wasn't much, just a dark room with some halogen work lights, because neither of us own a flash yet. We sprayed it with water just to make it a little nicer.

Red seems to be a hard colour for me. Whenever I do something with a lot of red, it never turns out quite the way I'd like. I'm not really sure how to explain what I mean, I just think it could be better.

Back to Spring and then Winter Again

Where were we? Oh yeah, we went from spring back to winter, then a bit of summer. While I was out there were a couple days of spring again, the tulips are starting to poke their heads up, but then we went straight back to winter. Crazy weather!
