I love the couple shot as well. YOu have to tell me your tricks...your shots are always so crisp and colors so bright! What kind of lens are you using?
For these I used my EF-S 55-250mm lens, and got as close as I could. I took about 40 photos, these were the only real good ones.
For post process: I saturated the colors a bit, added a very subtle vignette to darken around the edges just a bit so the birds will seem a bit brighter. Then sharpened with the "Unsharp Mask".
The first and third are stunning in their composition, focus/depth of field and connection with the subject. The intense blues and greens are striking too. Nice!
Blue Jays are beautiful birds. I like the couple shot.

you must have used 'vignette' minimally. very good. :) the needles in the last shot --gorgeous!!!!!!! i LOVE this last one especially! :)))
